Happy New Year from the Open A Bar 2 Ranch, LLC!
 
We pray that this letter finds you enjoying the new year and hope that it will be a prosperous and peaceful year for you and your family.
 
We want to thank all of you for your continued support.  We had some struggles in 2011, mainly the devastating storm in July, but we were blessed by many friends and family who helped us through.
 
Despite the loss of chickens we had last year due to the storm, we have plenty still available!  You can either purchase them directly here at the ranch or at the Scottsbluff Winter Farmers' Market.  I will enclose a flyer that lists the dates for the market.
 
At this time, we also have a limited supply of our all-natural beef available for sale by the individual cut.  Enclosed you will find our current price list.  This is also available for purchase at the ranch or at the winter farmers' market.  We are hoping to have our jerky and beef bratwurst back in stock by the next farmers' market on January 14th.  AND we will also have our all-new summer sausage!
 
If you haven't made it to the Scottsbluff Winter Farmers' Market yet, we strongly recommend that you do so.  The market has 21 full-time vendors and several part-time vendors offering a variety of homegrown and handmade products and live music.  Starting at the next market on January 14th, there will be cooking demonstrations and classes by the vendors.  Kathi will be doing a demonstration on the 14th titled “It's Only a Chicken for Pete's Sake!”  She will demonstrate how to cut-up a whole chicken and teach you how to make 4 meals from one chicken! This class is perfect for beginning cooks and those who have trouble with the idea of what to do with a whole chicken.  Beth Everett (Meadowlark Hearth CSA) and Maddy Soule (Soule Organic Farm & Ranch) will be teaming up to do a presentation on bratwurst and sauerkraut.  The demonstrations start at 2pm.
 
The end of August we will have a limited supply of 100% grass-finished beef for sale available by the whole, half or quarter.  The price for this beef will be $4/lb hanging weight and includes processing.  If you are interested, please let us know ASAP, as our beef sells out quickly.  A $100 deposit is required to secure your order.
